Faithfully reproducing the human 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae, this natural cast vinyl replica includes the spinal cord and paired spinal nerves. In addition to the normal intervertebral disc, the set is furnished with two interchangeable herniated discs which illustrate different disc pathologies - one exhibits a central prolapse which would result in compression of the dura and cauda equina, while the second displays a dorsolateral prolapse whose bulging would press on the nerves of one side.

L4 is detachable to allow you to switch from one disc to another. Mounted on a hardwood base.
